“When two people are meant for each other, no time is too long, no distance is too far and nobody can keep them apart”
Our gorgeous couple Preeti Khatri and Anshul Chauhan were always meant to be. It was not a question of why, but when. Preeti is a makeup artist by profession and the founder of LuxeBrush. She has arranged scores of weddings, dealt with the bridezilla crisis, and has come out shining at the top. So when the coronavirus crisis hit India, they took a call to get married within a week! A mammoth task indeed! They could not have picked a better time to tie the knot. They have embarked on a new journey blessed with happiness and fulfillment. Not to mention their brand new house! We take you through their intimate yet magical wedding experience.
Introducing our gorgeous couple!
Preeti and Anshul have been dating for 8 years. They are each other’s better halves, best friends, and now spouses. Preeti is a fabulous Makeup artist. She enjoys what she does and is always on the hunt for the best bridal looks! Anshul is in the education business. He always encouraged, helped, and supported Preeti to follow her dreams. He is a major driving force in building up Preeti’s brand. Even though their work-life is worlds apart, they are the perfect couple one could dream of.
How their dream wedding materialized
It had always been the bride’s dream to have a small intimate wedding with only their close friends and family. She also always dreamt of getting married in a morning ceremony. These things seem simple enough, right? Well, in traditional North Indian culture, not having a big fat Indian wedding is a highly unconventional scenario.
The move-in with the wedding
Preeti has always been a planner. She and Anshul had the whole plan chalked out. When the house possession in January was delayed, the wedding was to be in late April and a vacation honeymoon in May. As the saying goes “The best moments in life are usually unplanned”.
On the 5th of March, when India battled with its first corona victims and the fate of the world was uncertain, the bride’s and groom’s family took a call. The wedding was to be on the 11th of March, barely a week later. Some of us would faint at the prospect of a full-fledged wedding organization in less than a week! But did we mention that our beautiful bride is in the wedding business? And now we arrive at an interesting junction, where our intimate yet magical wedding unfolds!
The Ultimate wedding checklist to get married within a week!
The Bridal Outfit
The bride modified her engagement lehenga into a wedding lehenga! Preeti has been in the wedding scenario for a long time. Armed with a visual of exactly what she wants, she had brought Aditya & Mohit’s designer lehenga back in January. It was the bride’s choice to wear a full-fledged Indian attire through all of the wedding ceremonies. A choice that paid off, for sure!
Preeti has customized her and Anshul’s outfit all on her own. for her outfit, she added a dupatta trail matching with the lehenga. The bride brought the net material from the Ramji sons Lajpat Nagar shop in Delhi, just a couple of days before her wedding day! She next added a perfect lace to her outfit with Kardhana’s work. A designer lehenga altered by their local tailor looked absolutely fantastic. You couldn’t tell the difference!
I have always advised my bride’s to go for a light dupatta with a heavy outfit. All these minute details that help me in my profession daily; came in handy when I was organizing my own wedding.
Preeti Khatri
Bridal Makeup and hair
Preeti did all her wedding makeup by herself. Sounds impossibly insane, but it’s the truth! She went for a natural look with smoky eyes and nude lips. When it came to the hairstyle, she wanted a little bit of drama. With the assistance of her stylist Deepak Sisodia, the bride went for a fresh floral bun. The overall effect was mesmerizing. Perfect for the intimate yet magical wedding about to happen.

Roka/ engagement ceremony and mehndi ceremony
The bride and the groom, fortunately, had their rings ready. They had found their choicest wedding bands a couple of months ago. This led to a seamless experience for an intimate engagement ceremony, organized in one day! The mehndi ceremony took place on the morning of 9th March, because the following two days were the grand Holi festival!
Bridal accessories/jewelry
Another potential cause of chaos could be the bridal jewelry that goes with the lehenga. Preeti worked quickly and efficiently. While shopping for the lace in the Lajpat Nagar market, she picked up a high necklace set studded with Kundan jewels. The color contrast set beautifully against the bridal outfit. Out of the several Nath options, the best one went with the outfit. coming to the bangles, Rani colored Chura’s were paired with the bride’s very own Kalira collection. The end result will have you smiling in delight!
The Groom’s outfit
Anshul’s outfit is also customized by the bride herself! The fabric for the jutti and pagdi was picked out and hand-made by a local tailor. A fashion designer who’s friends with the duo made the groom’s kurta on a one-day notice.
The wedding guest list
The big was auspicious. 25 of the couple’s closest family members bear witness to the sacred ceremony. Among them were the bride and groom’s parents; and two of Preeti’s closest friends( practically siblings).
A dream destination
Preeti’s mother is a Khrishna devotee. It was her idea initially to have a wedding in Missouri. When that didn’t pan out, she came up with the brilliant idea to have the wedding at ISKON Dwarka, Delhi. The guests were accommodated at Radisson Blu Dwarka, Delhi. The arrangements there were excellent. With four days of notice, the ISKON community arranged the pandits, the decor, and the settings. the war-mala was designed by a florist on the premises. He brought the bride’s vision of pink and white roses with pearls in the garland to life. God bless his soul!
When Love is real, it always finds a way…
Even when the odds seemed stacked against them, Anshul and Preeti managed to pull off their dream wedding. It went so well that Preeti managed to convince her mom that small weddings are the way to go! They found one of their preferred photographers, Singh. We have to agree that he managed to do a fabulous job in capturing this intimate yet magical wedding.
It is rightly said that true love always finds away. Maybe this was fate, because the week after their wedding, the entire country was in a strict lockdown. Owing to that, when things go back to normal, a grand celebration is in the making!
Last but not the least, we are proud of the 21st-century couples where the bride’s take charge, the spouses support each other in their professional and personal lives! We wish our couple all the happiness in the world, but its time to bid adieu.
